If you are living with primary immunodeficiency disease (PIDD) or you have a loved one who is a patient affected by PIDD, you recognize the importance of the unique immunoglobulin replacement therapies that help to prevent serious and life threatening infections. With life long and life saving Ig replacement therapy, many patients affected by PIDD live healthy, full and productive lives.

Patients need access to the Ig therapies that work best for them, especially when their well-being and life depends on it. As a patient, you have the right to be informed about your treatment options, procedures and potential complications for your disease, in terms that you can understand.

Coventry Health Care’s policy is an unacceptable intrusion into the patient-physician relationship. A change in therapy should only occur with the active participation of the prescribing physician, who is an expert in this disease and the knowledge of the patient’s medical history and unique characteristics. Coventry Health Care’s policy will disrupt patient care by making them switch to a new therapy, even when their current therapy is successful. If you are a Coventry beneficiary having issues accessing your non-preferred IVIG product, or you are a patient who has experienced an adverse reaction as a result of switching products please let us know by sending an email to IDF through the CONTACT button at the top of the page.

If you would like to join with IDF in opposition to this harmful policy, please use the IDF Action Alert System to send a letter to policymakers at Coventry Health Care and let your voice be heard!
